Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms carefully before booking a session, class, or service at Sanctuary by the Sea. By scheduling an appointment or purchasing a service, you agree to the following terms and conditions. 

 

1. About These Terms 

These Terms & Conditions govern all services offered by Sanctuary by the Sea, operating under Rashmi Devi LLC, including in-person sessions, virtual appointments, classes, workshops, retreats, training programs, and retail purchases. They apply to all clients, students, and guests.

 

2. Booking & Payment 

All sessions and classes must be booked in advance through our online scheduling system at sanctuarybythesea.as.me or by contacting us directly. Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your appointment unless a payment plan has been arranged in writing.

Prices are listed in USD and are subject to change without notice. Any applicable New Jersey sales tax will be applied at checkout where required by law.

 

3. Cancellation & Refund Policy 

If We Cancel 

If Sanctuary by the Sea cancels your appointment for any reason, you will receive a full refund of any payment made, processed within 5 to 7 business days. Alternatively, you may choose to transfer your booking to another available date or service of equal value.

If You Cancel 

We understand that life happens, and we always do our best to work with you. That said, our practitioners reserve time specifically for you, and last-minute cancellations affect their livelihood and the availability of that time for others.

Our cancellation policy is as follows:

  •  Cancellations made 24 hours or more before your appointment: Your booking may be transferred to another date or a different service of equal value. No refund will be issued.
  •  Cancellations made less than 24 hours before your appointment: No refund and no transfer will be available. The full session fee is forfeited.
  •  No-shows (failure to attend without notice): The full session fee is forfeited. No refund or transfer will be issued.

Transfers & Credits 

Your booking is transferrable. If you are unable to attend, you are welcome to transfer your appointment to another person, provided you notify us at least 24 hours in advance with the new client's name and contact information. The new client will be subject to these same Terms & Conditions.

Session credits issued in lieu of a refund are valid for 6 months from the date of issue and may be applied to any service of equal or lesser value.

We are a small, woman-owned, veteran-owned business. Your understanding of this policy is deeply appreciated and directly supports our ability to continue this work in our community. 

 

4. Lateness 

Please arrive 5 to 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment to allow time to settle in. If you arrive late, your session will end at its originally scheduled time out of respect for other clients. The full session fee applies regardless of late arrival. If you are more than 15 minutes late without prior notice, we reserve the right to treat your appointment as a no-show.

 

5. Health & Safety 

You are responsible for informing your practitioner of any health conditions, injuries, medications, allergies, or contraindications prior to your session. Sanctuary by the Sea reserves the right to modify or decline a service if, in the practitioner's professional judgment, it is not appropriate or safe for your current health status.

Our services are not a substitute for medical care. Nothing offered at Sanctuary by the Sea should be construed as medical diagnosis, treatment, or advice. Please consult your physician or licensed healthcare provider for any medical concerns.

If you are pregnant, have recently had surgery, or are undergoing active medical treatment, please disclose this information at the time of booking. Some services may require physician clearance.

 

6. Scope of Practice 

All practitioners at Sanctuary by the Sea operate within their licensed and certified scope of practice. Our services are offered for the purposes of wellness, relaxation, nervous system support, and education. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition.

 

7. Informed Consent 

By booking a session, you confirm that you have read and understood the nature of the service you are receiving, that you are participating voluntarily, and that you have disclosed all relevant health information to your practitioner. You understand that you may withdraw consent at any time during a session.

 

8. Privacy 

Sanctuary by the Sea respects your privacy. Personal and health information collected during intake is kept strictly confidential and is used solely to provide you with appropriate care. We do not sell, share, or disclose your information to third parties except as required by law. For full details, please see our Privacy Policy.

 

9. Retail Purchases 

All retail sales — including Ayurvedic products, tools, and apothecary items — are final. We do not accept returns or exchanges on opened products. If an item arrives damaged or defective, please contact us within 7 days of receipt and we will work with you to make it right.

 

10. Training Programs & Workshops 

Registration fees for training programs, multi-session workshops, and retreats are non-refundable once the program has begun. If you are unable to continue a program due to documented medical circumstances, we will make every effort to accommodate you with a credit or a place in a future cohort. Please contact us as early as possible if your circumstances change.

For events and single-session workshops, the standard cancellation policy in Section 3 applies.

 

11. Intellectual Property 

All content offered through Sanctuary by the Sea — including course materials, handouts, recordings, written guides, and session plans — is the intellectual property of Rashmi Devi LLC and Jeanette Sealy. Materials may not be reproduced, shared, or redistributed without written permission.

 

12. Limitation of Liability 

Sanctuary by the Sea and Rashmi Devi LLC shall not be held liable for any adverse reactions, injuries, or outcomes arising from services received, provided that all relevant health information was disclosed by the client prior to the session and the practitioner acted within their scope of practice.

Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

 

13. Changes to These Terms 

Sanctuary by the Sea reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. The most current version will always be available at sanctuarybythesea.org. Continued use of our services following any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
