Pediatric Physical Therapy

Meet Meg
Meg Czaszynski received her undergraduate degree in Kinesiological Science from the University of Maryland in 2005 and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Rutgers University (formerly UMDNJ) in 2008, graduating with an award for excellence in research.
Though Meg has always had a passion for working with the pediatric population, she began her career as an outpatient physical therapist working with teens and adults with a wide array of orthopedic and neurological diagnoses. This clinical background provided her with a keen understanding of the human body and orthopedic injuries. She has used this valuable knowledge base as a foundation throughout her career. After 2 years, Meg chose to pursue her love of pediatrics in a position with Children’s Specialized Hospital. For the balance of her 15+ year career, Meg’s devotion to pediatrics has focused on treating infants/ toddlers and children in both outpatient and educational settings. She has an extensive knowledge base from treating children with Torticollis, Plagiocephaly, developmental delays, Cerebral Palsy, Spinal Cord injury, Sensory Processing Disorders, coordination and balance disorders and orthopedic injuries (and prevention!).
Through each of her experiences, Meg has learned from the children and clinicians around her, helping to make her a very diverse and well-rounded therapist. She utilizes both clinical expertise and continuing education course work in therapeutic handling techniques, functional electrical stimulation, orthopedics and sensory integration to provide patients with comprehensive care to help them reach their goals. Meg focuses on improving strength, alignment and function in conjunction to utilizing a variety of manual therapy techniques. Some of the manual therapy disciplines she utilizes during include: Craniosacral Fascial Therapy (with an emphasis on holistically releasing oral fascial ties (The Gillespie Approach)), Cranial Sacral Therapy, Myofascial Release, and Total Motion Release (Levels 1 and 2). Meg believes that the healing process is very specific to the individual and therapy should be fun, empowering and healing. Her positive attitude, creativity, purposeful use of play and innate desire to help babies and children to learn, grow and thrive make her an exceptional physical therapist.
When she is not with her patients, Meg enjoys spending time with her daughters, husband and dog. She is a dedicated Yogi (and certified pediatric yoga instructor for children ages 2-7), beachcomber and a food lover. She enjoys paddle boarding, riding her bike and traveling. She believes every day is a beach day (no matter the weather) and loves to watch the sunrise, as it reaffirms her belief that each day is a new day filled with exciting opportunities to help children of all ages learn, grow, play, become stronger and achieve their goals.
